Welcome! Thank you for stopping by to learn more about my therapy services.

I became a psychotherapist to help support clients as they overcome obstacles in their lives. I have always known I wanted to help people.

Growing up, I wasn’t sure how I wanted to help people until I took my first psychology class in high school. It was then that I knew I wanted to become a therapist to help better the lives of those struggling in them. A little background on my story – I lost my father at the age of 11 to alcoholism and heart disease. Later in life, I came to acknowledge the impact it had on me and appreciate its significance in my life.

Prior to graduate school, I attended the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Psychology degree with a minor in Social Work. Since completing graduate school at Our Lady of the Lake University, I’ve been fortunate to work in a variety of different settings, which has provided experience across a broad range of areas. I’ve provided therapy for patients in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings as well as offered non-profit work for a clinic providing free services to the uninsured.

My Testimonials

“Joanne has first and foremost, been a friend to me. What stands out about Joanne as a therapist is the professionalism, care, and gentleness that she gives. I never felt judged, pried at, or pushed towards a feeling or opinion. She respected my intelligence and where my life took me, and worked with me regardless of condition. Joanne is a wonderful human being, and I cannot recommend her enough as a professional or a friend.”
